Leisure Matters is proud to offer a dedicated outdoor target sports range near Reading, combining the thrill of air rifle shooting and archery in a purpose-built venue. Located on the borders of Hampshire, Berkshire, and Surrey, our range is ideal for groups, parties, schools, and corporate events looking for a unique and action-packed day out.
The covered air rifle range includes 10 shooting lanes ranging from 25m to 40m and accommodates up to 20 participants. With knockdown targets, spinners, and takeaway paper targets, it’s perfect for both beginners and experienced shooters. All rifles must meet the sub 12ft/lb muzzle energy limit. Open five days a week, this exciting venue is a top choice for anyone searching for target sports near Reading.

For all Target Sports, minimum age is 12 years old
Yes. Our activities are run as group sessions. There will be a minimum of 6 participants in any given session and up to a maximum of:
10 participants for our Archery & .22 Air Rifle Shooting sessions, and
8 participants in our Archery, .22 Air Rifle Shooting & Axe Throwing sessions.
Individual Target Sports have 10 lanes available to book

Full payment is required at the time of booking.
A: No, all sessions need to be pre-booked unless advertised.
Unless weather conditions are deemed hazardous by our staff, our activities continue to run. Participants will be informed as soon as possible in the event of unsafe conditions.
Participants should dress sensibly for the outdoors and the weather on the day. Long sleeved top or jumper and comfortable trousers. Warm waterproof clothing and gloves depending on the weather. Wear suitable footwear for outdoor pursuits – we run our activities outdoors and there is uneven ground, so those attending in crocks, flip flops and open shoes/sandals will not be allowed to participate.
We ask that participants arrive 15 minutes earlier than their booking time and to allow plenty of time for their journey. Unfortunately, if you arrive late, you will not be allowed to participate as you will have missed the Health and Safety briefing.
Yes, we have a portable toilet on site.
Yes, dogs are allowed on site as long as they are kept on a lead and supervised at all times. Any dog mess must be cleaned up and taken with you when you leave the site.

Get hands-on with two of our most popular target sports near Reading in this exciting combo session. Start with archery, where you’ll learn how to handle a bow safely and accurately. With expert guidance, you’ll practice your aim through a variety of engaging games and challenges – perfect for building skill and confidence, whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your technique.
Then move on to .22 air rifle shooting, where you’ll receive a full safety briefing and hands-on instruction. Learn how to load, aim and shoot in a secure, structured setting, using a range of targets including spinners, knockdowns and paper takeaways to track your progress. Fun, relaxed and professionally run – this combo is ideal for individuals, small groups, or team-building days.

Our most thrilling package yet – combine archery, air rifle shooting, and the excitement of axe throwing in one action-packed session near Reading.
You’ll learn how to throw Flying Angels and Tomahawks safely and accurately, with expert instructors on hand to guide you through techniques and games that test your focus and precision. The above activities are run 2 weekends a month at our woodland site in Warren Heath Woods, Eversley, Hampshire. It is recommended that you book in advance as dates can become fully booked quite quickly. Although not weather dependent, in line with health and safety, sessions may be rescheduled due to extreme weather conditions.

Rifle Hire
1 hour Taster sessions available:
With own gun: £25 pp for the first hour (All rifles must be strictly sub 12ft/lb muzzle energy) (All under 18’s to be accompanied by an adult)

- Air Gun Law and offence penalties
- Air rifle Safety
- BASC air rife code of practice
- Introduction to bullet trajectory
- Principles of marksmanship
- Sight theory and types of sight
- Scope mounting
Onsite classroom theory and practical range application (incl course completion certificate) – £120 per person

New Team Leader
Leisure Matters are proud to introduce Doug Boyce as our new team leader. Doug brings a wealth of shooting experience gained from serving with HM forces and from years of shooting based pest control for local farms and businesses.
As well as being keen to pass on his experience, Doug has an impressive array of specialist kit at his disposal which he is only too happy to make available to us.
Great fun – well worth it
The four of us had a great time and enjoyed the archery, shooting and axe throwing combo. Tom the instructor/owner was really skilled at helping us with all the activities and made it great fun. The precautionary measures in place to prevent transmission of Coronavirus made the who experience feel safe. All in all a great experience and we will certainly be going back again soon.

Target Shooting
I had booked Archery, .22 Air Rifle Shooting & Axe Throwing combo for 2 hours for my husbands birthday as a surprise for him and his friends. The experience was thoroughly enjoyable. Tom the instructor was so lovely and entertaining. He had us all laughing for the whole 2 hours to the point where we were in tears. Made the whole experience that much better.
Nina who I had booked the event with went above and beyond to find us a time slot as it was so last minute, which I really appreciated.
I would 100% recommend this event and we will be visiting again soon.
What a brilliant time
Went with some mates as part of a Stag do. Tom looked after us and we had a brilliant time. I had thought we had booked as just us, but we had one extra join who wasn’t part of our party. Nevertheless they were made to feel as part of our group and we all had a great laugh. Loved the idea of archery, .22 rifles and axe throwing. Thank you so much for great entertainment!
